It was developed as a sport from the original Crimson Sprinter variety by North Dakota farmer David Podoll. Weighing between 5 to 7 ounces, it is a medium slicer that matures early and can tolerate cool conditions, making it an excellent choice for growing in various environments, whether in the field, at the market, or on your table.
