Cherry Tomato Seed Kit β€” Five Varieties, One Colorful Garden

Fill your snack bowl with tomatoes you picked yourself. This Cherry Tomato Seed Kit brings together five varieties in separate packets, giving you a colorful mix of round and pear-shaped fruit for garden snacking, fresh salads, and roasting. Grow your favorites side by side and discover which flavor you reach for first.

What's in the Kit?

  • Red Cherry Tomato: Classic red cherry tomatoes for fresh snacks and everyday salads.
  • Black Cherry Tomato: Dusky purple-brown cherries known for rich, complex tomato flavor.
  • Orange Cherry Tomato: Bright orange cherry tomatoes that add another color to your harvest bowl.
  • Austin's Red Pear Tomato: Red pear-shaped fruit with a distinctive elongated neck, often reaching about 2 inches long; excellent fresh or in salads.
  • Yellow Pear Tomato: Small golden-yellow pears with a mild flavor and a cheerful contrast to red tomatoes.

You receive five separate packets, each containing approximately 25+ seeds. These are seeds for planting, not live plants. Growing containers, soil, and supports are not included.

If a listed variety is temporarily unavailable, we may substitute another heirloom cherry tomato variety. Your kit will still contain five full packets.

From Garden Snacks to Dinner

Pick a few ripe tomatoes while tending your garden, toss the mixed colors into a lunch salad, or roast a tray with garlic and herbs for pasta. Separate packets let you choose which varieties to sow, share a packet with a gardening friend, or plan a colorful garden gift.

Planting and Growing

Start indoors 6–8 weeks before your intended transplant date. Sow approximately ΒΌ inch deep in seed-starting mix and provide warmth and strong light. Harden seedlings off gradually, then transplant after frost danger has passed and soil has warmed. Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.

Plan for supported vines rather than assuming this is a compact patio collection. Use sturdy cages, stakes, or trellises and allow canopy room for each plant. Water consistently at soil level and mulch to conserve moisture. Even watering helps reduce moisture-related problems but cannot guarantee crack-free fruit or prevent every case of blossom-end rot.

For square foot gardening, use 1 plant per sq ft (trellis required) only with dedicated vertical training and regular pruning of suitable vining plants. Allow additional space for caged, multi-stemmed, or substituted compact varieties. Follow any variety-specific packet directions.

Collection Details

Contents: Five separately packed varieties, approximately 25+ seeds each.
Harvest timing: Allow roughly 60–80 days from transplant depending on variety and conditions; harvests will not necessarily begin together.
Growth habit: Primarily indeterminate vining varieties; follow individual packet directions, particularly for substitutions.
Light: Full sun.
Life cycle: Frost-tender warm-season annuals.
Botanical name: Solanum lycopersicum.

Harvest when each variety develops its mature color and yields slightly to gentle pressure. Black Cherry ripens dusky purple-brown rather than bright red; orange and yellow varieties retain their own ripe colors.
