(Capsicum annuum) Jalapeno Hot Pepper is 3 to 4 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide, thick-walled, moderately hot pods with a deep green color that matures to a bright red. The skin may show a netting pattern as the fruit ages, but it does not affect flavor. Wonderful for fresh salsa, pickling, and stuffing. 2,500-5,000 Scoville heat units
