Emerald Giant Sweet Bell Pepper, Heirloom Seeds — The 1963 Heirloom With 4½” Thick-Walled Fruits and More Vitamin C Than Any Other Bell

Emerald Giant (Capsicum annuum) was developed in 1963 and selected for heavy yields and robust plant structure. Fruits are emerald green, thick-walled, and very sweet — 4½” long by 3½” wide — turning from dark green to rich red at full maturity. Higher in vitamin C than other bell peppers. Excellent for salads, stuffing, and baking. Produces all season. 74 days.

Why Grow Emerald Giant?

  • 4½” × 3½” thick-walled fruits — large, heavy, and very sweet
  • Higher vitamin C than other bells — nutritional standout
  • Robust plant structure — supports a high number of peppers
  • Green to red ripening — harvest at either stage
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Start indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Water consistently. Harvest green at 74 days or allow to ripen fully to red for peak sweetness.
