Walla Walla, Onion,
Walla Walla onion is a very sweet-tasting onion and is known for its great flavor. It produces extra large white onions with light brown skin. Bulbs reach up to 4" across. As a short keeper, it does not store well, so it is best for fresh eating. Sweet enough to eat like an apple. It is a delicious cold-hardy variety, and cold hardiness makes it a good choice for short-season climates! Walla Walla is a "day-neutral" variety, which means it will grow almost anywhere in the country regardless of day length. It has been a favorite since the early 1900s when it was brought here from France. It matures about 80-85 days from transplant.
