Green Flesh Honeydew (Cucumis melo) is one of the sweetest melons in the honeydew family — an all-around superb performer grown in France and Algeria before being imported to the U.S. in 1991. Smooth, creamy white skin conceals lime-green, super-sweet flesh. Fruits weigh 3–6 pounds. Performs best in the South and Southeast but can be coaxed into production in other regions with care. 90–100 days.
Start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed into warm soil in full sun. Space plants 3–4 feet apart. Water consistently. Performs best in warm climates — use row cover in cooler regions. Harvest when rind turns creamy white and melon slips from vine.
