Early Purple Vienna Kohlrabi has purple-skinned cabbage-flavored bulbs that grow above ground with crisp white flesh, good cooked or raw. Leaves are eaten like kale, and white-fleshed bulbs are eaten like broccoli. Harvest bulbs when tennis ball-sized. Kohlrabi makes a real staple crop, with high yields; it is cold hardy. Kohlrabi is a rich source of vitamin C and fiber. It also contains protein and a variety of minerals. It is a pre-1860 heirloom. 55–70 days.
