Named for the ancient Greek city of Thessaloniki, this exceptional heirloom was developed at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been a staple of Greek kitchen gardens for generations. Thessaloniki produces medium to large, bright red, globe-shaped fruits with thick walls, meaty flesh, and a rich, balanced flavor that is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, and canning. The fruits are notably crack-resistant and hold well on the vine β a practical advantage in variable summer weather.
Indeterminate and open-pollinated, Thessaloniki is a reliable, flavorful heirloom with genuine Mediterranean heritage.
