Polar Beauty (Lycopersicon lycopersicum) was crafted by plant breeder John Holm in Fairbanks, Alaska — a cold-tolerant, open-pollinated determinate variety that sets blossoms early and yields large, solid, meaty, bright red, flavorful fruits even when temperatures are in the 40s. Plants grow 24–36 inches tall, making them excellent for container gardening in cooler climates. Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the final frost.
Start indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Cage or stake. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully red and slightly soft.
