Giallo de Summer (Lycopersicon lycopersicum) is a medium-sized pale yellow beefsteak tomato typically weighing 6–10 oz, with some fruits growing larger. This mid-season indeterminate variety thrives in most locations but performs particularly well in heat and humidity. Mild, sweet flavor and low acidity make it an excellent choice for slicing into sandwiches and salads — a beautiful and approachable yellow beefsteak for any kitchen garden.
Start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed, spacing plants 24–36 inches apart in full sun. Stake or cage. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully pale yellow and slightly soft.
