Amish Paste is the paste tomato that serious sauce makers reach for when they want the best. An Amish heirloom from Wisconsin via Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this variety produces abundant yields of 6–8 oz meaty red fruits with outstanding flavor that is exceptional both fresh and cooked. The flesh is dense, rich, and deeply satisfying — one of the best tomatoes for sauces and canning available in the heirloom world, with a flavor that rewards the patience of the long 80–90 day season.
Indeterminate and open-pollinated, Amish Paste is the heirloom that earns its place in the garden year after year through sheer quality.
Start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Stake or cage indeterminate vines. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully red and firm.
