Curled Cress (Lepidium sativum) is one of the fastest crops you can grow — a peppery, watercress-like salad green that is ready to harvest in as little as 10–14 days from sowing. The deeply curled, bright green leaves carry a sharp, peppery bite that adds life to salads, sandwiches, and garnishes. Grow in the garden, in containers, or on a windowsill year-round. An excellent microgreen and sprouting green. Cool-season annual that thrives in spring and fall.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall in full sun to part shade. Sow seeds thinly on the surface or barely cover. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest with scissors when 2–3 inches tall. Succession sow every 1–2 weeks for continuous harvest. Can be grown indoors on a windowsill year-round.
Days to maturity: 10–14 days (cress), 30–40 days (full)
Type: Heirloom, Open-Pollinated, Annual
Sun: Full sun to part shade
