Yugoslavian Red grows loose heads that can grow to form heads 10 to 12" across. The bright-green cupped leaves splashed with rosy red, this butterhead type makes a visual and flavorful splash in the salad bowl. The taste is superb, buttery, and mild. (A heirloom from a family in Marburg, Yugoslavia. Introduced 1987 by SESE.) It can be harvested in about 55 days.
