Mojito Mint Spearmint (Mentha villosa), is a beautiful full-leaved mint. Easy to grow, its mint scent is mild and warm – not overbearing as other mints can be. Leaves are used to flavor iced drinks, sauces, vegetables, and lamb. Most of the mints used today, including Mojito Mint, came to North America with the Colonists. Mint is also an excellent culinary addition and makes a great tea. As a general rule, mint family plants root vigorously when allowed to grow freely and can be invasive. Grow them in containers to keep them in check.

DO NOT COVER THE SEEDS WITH SOIL! Sow seeds indoors just on the surface of the soil. Keeping the soil consistently warm at 75-85F. Cool soils, below about 60-65F, even just at night, will significantly delay or inhibit germination. Additionally, overly warm soils, above 90F, can inhibit germination also. Excess water can also bury seeds deep in the soil, where they can not break the surface. Water when the soil surface just begins to dry. A good place to keep the container is on top of the fridge covered with a plastic bag where the soil temperature will be warmer, perfect for germination. Keep moist, not letting the seeds dry out between watering. Soil temperature for Germination: 65-75F
