Prizehead Leaf, Lettuce,
Despite its name, it is a non-heading, leaf, or loose-headed lettuce variety. The leaves are upright, deeply curled, broad, and light green with a slight reddish blush on the tips. Along with being quick to harvest, it is a fine sort and is slow to bolt to seed. Prizehead produces luscious heads of green lettuce with outer leaves that are loose and curled. The inner leaves are lime green, and the outer fringed leaf tips are purple to bronze. Exceedingly crisp, sweet, and tender. Perfect salad lettuce for the home gardener that is slow to bolt. Does best in cooler weather. 55 days
