Large American Flag, Leek,
A Scottish heirloom was introduced in the 1830s. Very winter-hardy with blue-green, white stalks 7-10" long and 1 1/2" in diameter. With delicious, sweet, mild onion flavor. A standard variety for home and market gardeners because it grows very uniformly. This hardy leek can tolerate cold climates and can grow in zones 3-9. Leeks can be used in stews, soups, and salads. Large American Flag Leeks are known as Scotch Flag or Giant Musselburgh Leek. American Flag Leek is a biennial grown as an annual. Leeks are great boiled, fried, baked, and steamed. Also, go well in soups, stews, and stir-fries. 130 days. Non-GMO
