Lakota, Winter Squash,
A RARE Native American winter squash variety was grown by the Lakota Sioux. Lakota squash is a unique and hardy winter squash. Its name comes from the Lakota Tribe of the Sioux Indians who initially raised the squash. Its distinct pear-shaped red, orange, and green colors make it a fun decorative piece. The fine-grained orange flesh is sweet, nutty, and excellent for baking. This squash will create a stunning fall decoration as well as beautiful meals in the winter. Lakota was once a stable of the Lakota Sioux people and was only widely available recently. Excellent storing squash. The average weight is around 5-7 lbs, 85-105 days.
