Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors in early spring in full sun with well-draining soil. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep in rows 12 inches apart. Thin to 12 inches. Germination is erratic — be patient, it can take 2–3 weeks. Keep soil consistently moist until established. Harvest foliage as needed; harvest flower heads when fully open for canning. Allow some plants to self-seed for next year's crop.
