Green Ice Leaf Lettuce is known for its mild taste and crisp, dark green leaves. Green Ice is the least bitter of all lettuces and has a wonderful sweet flavor. It stays fresh longer than other lettuces after being cut and adds a delightful crunch to salads and sandwiches. It grows best in sunny, sandy areas and seeds take about 7-10 days to sprout. The attractive ruffled leaves grow to be 12 inches tall and are slow to bolt. It's also very green with a higher nutritional value than typical iceberg lettuce. It is ready to harvest in 45 days .
