Mortgage Lifter Tomato Legendary, huge beefsteak (up to 4 lb.; average 2½ lb.), pink fruit has a delicious, rich, sweet taste. Consistently wins taste tests. Exceptionally meaty and typically crack-free. This variety was developed by M.C. Byles of Logan, West Virginia. He sold the plants for $1 apiece and paid off his $6000 mortgage in 6 years.
