Mammoth Gold Pumpkin Seeds — Heirloom | 40–100+ lbs, Pink-Golden-Orange Skin, Thick Pale Flesh, Exhibition & Pies

Cucurbita maxima — Mammoth Gold is a true giant — smooth, mottled pink-golden-orange skin with faint ribbing and an irregular shape that gives each fruit a distinctive, one-of-a-kind character. Grows to 18–24 inches in diameter and typically weighs 40–60 lbs, with exceptional specimens exceeding 100 lbs. The thick, pale yellow-orange flesh is edible but coarse — excellent for pies. A showstopper in the garden and at fall festivals. 105 days.

Why Grow Mammoth Gold?

  • Truly massive — 18–24 inch diameter, 40–60 lbs typical; 100+ lbs possible with optimal growing conditions
  • Distinctive appearance — smooth, mottled pink-golden-orange skin with faint ribbing; each fruit is uniquely shaped
  • Edible flesh — thick, pale yellow-orange flesh; coarse texture but excellent for pies
  • Exhibition and display — a genuine crowd-stopper at fall festivals, farm stands, and harvest displays
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Plant seeds outdoors after all frost risk has passed and soil temperature reaches 65°F. Plant 3–5 seeds 1 inch deep per mound; thin to 2 strongest seedlings. For maximum size, grow one pumpkin per vine and fertilize regularly with a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus fertilizer once fruits set. Water deeply but infrequently. Harvest when skin is fully colored; cut with a 2–3 inch stem attached.
