Fordhook Giant, Swiss Chard

Introduced in 1934, by W. Atlee Burpee and Co, Fordhook Giant is now an old favorite with its broad, meaty celery-like stalks supporting large, dark green, and savoyed, fleshy leaves. The delicate pale green 8-10 inch stalks are wonderfully tender and juicy. And are packed with vitamins and minerals. Overall, plants can reach 22 inches. A vigorous grower with a long growing season, it will provide fresh greens from early summer into fall, and year-round in mild climates. Young leaves are great for salads. Great container variety.
