This Dutch heirloom variety is mildew-resistant, with long, oval, glossy green leaves that form a beautiful bunch — tender and delicate with a nutty flavor and a hint of mint that is very satisfying in quick salads or lightly cooked like spinach. Growing Notes

Sow outdoors in late summer or early autumn for winter harvest. Can also be grown in cold frames or unheated greenhouses. Sow seeds thinly, 1/4 inch deep, in fertile, well-draining soil. Thin to 4–6 inches apart. Water consistently but avoid waterlogging. Harvest outer leaves as needed, or cut the whole plant at the base.
