Black Brandywine Tomato Heirloom was bred sometime in the late 1920s by Dr. Harold E. Martin (1888-1959). This tomato is incomparably sweet. Large, potato leaf, prolific vines produce reddish black fruits in clusters of 3-5. Outstanding, with a rich, intense tomato flavor. Very meaty with few seeds, similar to most Brandywines. A great choice. As is typical of heirloom plants, Brandywine is an open-pollinated variety that breeds true from generation to generation. Indeterminate. 80-90 days.

Seller was helpful with instructions. The seeds arrived, and I had instructions on how to store them until they should be planted, then how to plant them and when. It was appreciated, as I am a first time gardening noob from seeds. I've done seedlings before, but never seeds. I can say that the seeds have grown really well! I just finished thinning them out (and giving my extras to a little girl who wants to garden!) and I will be repotting them soon. They look quite healthy. Can't wait til I get to try the tomatoes themselves! :D
