Armenian Yard Long, Heirloom Cucumber Seeds — The Rare Snake Cucumber With Mild, Sweet Flavor

Also known as the Snake Cucumber, Armenian Yard Long is the gourmet garden vegetable that stops visitors in their tracks. Heavily ribbed, light green fruits grow extraordinarily long — best eaten at 24 inches long and less than 2½ inches across — with a mild, sweet taste and a tender texture that makes them exceptional for fresh eating, salads, and any application where visual drama matters. Technically a muskmelon rather than a true cucumber, Armenian Yard Long has none of the bitterness of standard cucumbers and requires no peeling.

A rare gourmet variety that rewards adventurous gardeners with one of the most striking vegetables in the garden. 70 days.

Why Grow Armenian Yard Long?

  • Extraordinary length — best at 24 inches, a genuine garden showstopper
  • Heavily ribbed, light green skin — visually dramatic and distinctive
  • Mild, sweet flavor — no bitterness, no peeling required
  • Rare gourmet variety — a conversation piece at farmers markets and dinner tables
  • Open-pollinated — save seed year after year
  • Non-GMO, USA-grown seeds

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 60°F, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds 1 inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Space plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Trellis strongly recommended — allows fruits to hang straight and reach full length. Water consistently. Harvest at 24 inches for best flavor and texture.
