Lemon Spice, Jalapeno Pepper,

"NuMex Lemon Spice" Jalapeno Pepper by New Mexico State University introduced this colorful jalapeño. It was bred with a sunny lemon yellow variety using natural backcrossing techniques, producing a fruity-tasting, super eye-catching fruit. Extremely prolific, these peppers produced huge harvests! This variety has major eye appeal and stands out in salsas and other fresh preparations; the color pops. It has thick flesh and spicy flavor like the Early Jalapeño, but 3x more heat. These make great fiery Orange and Yellow Salsa! Plants are 24" tall, and pods are 2-1/2" x 1" wide. (65 days) Heirloom - Open Pollinated

In early spring, start seeds indoors eight weeks before warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4" deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light, and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 21 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30" apart, or into large 5-gallon containers. Harvest peppers when they are full-size and bright yellow.
