Intricately lobed, deeply serrated leaves range from dark green with purple veining to deep maroon — the color deepening beautifully in cooler weather. The flavor is mild, sweet, and slightly peppery: approachable enough for fresh salads, satisfying enough for stir-fries and braising. Even the flower buds and bright yellow blossoms offer a tangy accent. Ruby Streaks grows quickly, tolerates heat better than many greens, and adds striking color, texture, and loft to any dish. A favorite among chefs and market growers for its rosy elegance. Baby leaves in 20 days, full maturity at 40–45 days.

Why Grow Ruby Streaks Mustard?

Intricately lobed, deeply serrated leaves — dark green to deep maroon, stunning visual drama

Mild, sweet, slightly peppery flavor — approachable for salads, satisfying for braising

Color deepens in cool weather — more beautiful after cold snaps

Edible flower buds and yellow blossoms — tangy accent for garnishes

Chef and market grower favorite — brings loft and rosy elegance to any dish

Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Direct-sow outdoors in early spring or late summer for a fall harvest.
